Week #16 - 'Popsicles & Pinwheels'

WOW ... do we have a FUN challenge for you all this week in the Tea Room!  I am your host and I have provided this photo for some delicious summer-time inspiration:



Our challenge this week is called 'Popsicles and Pinwheels' and we are asking you to create a card or project inspired by this photo and using the colors of hot pink, bright green and cool turquoise!

I am pleased to introduce you all to our Guest Designer for Week #15 ... BETH CORNWALL!  Beth is not only a very talented paper crafter, but one of my neighbors and very good friends!  We've been stamping together for a couple years and, together, have learned so much from one another and stretched our creative horizons!  Beth can do any design well, but she really excels with the vintage style!  It has been so rewarding to see Beth blossom from someone who had not really had any previous stamping experience just a few short years ago, into the fabulous paper crafter and designer that she has become today!  Please visit Beth's blog and leave her a little love this week :)

Tracy #120I was totally blown away by Tracy's stunning creation of a vintage hat on a hat stand!  Tracy shared with us that she created the templates for these two projects all by herself - amazing!!  I love the soft blues, pinks and creams she used in her design!  The hat pins and lovely flowers added just the right touch of magic and then to top it all off by setting this scrumptious hat on it's own little stand ... just STUNNING!  Thank you so much, Tracy, for sharing your fabulous talents with us all this week in the Tea Room :)

Welcome our new SHABBY GIRLS!

Thank you all for the overwhelming response to our Shabby Little Design Team Call during the past ten days!  WOW ... 58 submissions!!!  I really enjoyed viewing all of your work and checking out your blogs!

With that said, the task of choosing just two new designers out of the 58 applicants was next to impossible!  I must compliment all of you for taking the time and effort to create such lovely designs to share with us here in the Tea Room!  Just outstanding work ... by one and all!  Thank you so very, very much!  We {heart} each an every one of you!!

Our current six-month term will be ending in September, so I will be saving the six best applications from THIS Design Team Call to reevaluate this fall.  If you did not make it onto the Design Team this round, please stay tuned for our next DT addition(s) this fall!  Maybe you'll be one of the new Shabby Girls!

This is a very bittersweet week here in the Tea Room.  We are saying a final farewell to our lovely Jill Hilliard who will be resigning from The Shabby Tea Room Design Team at the end of Week #14.  I know I speak from the heart when I say that we all have enjoyed seeing Jill's wonderful creations over the past 14 weeks and she has offered us all such inspiration with her lovely designs!!  We will miss you Jill!

Saying goodbye to Jill is the bitter part ... but, with change brings opportunity!!  The sweet part is the fact that our current Design Team call is well underway with so many GORGEOUS submissions!  Hurry, you still have until midnight EST on June 16th to submit a design for consideration.  Check back here Thursday morning -- I'll be announcing TWO brand new DT Members for us all to be inspired by!!  I wish I could pick you ALL ... but unfortunately we only have spots available now for two.  Stay tuned  -- our current DT positions end in September, so we'll be adding to the Shabby Girls DT again this fall!
